DUBLIN — Sinndar wrote his name in racing’s record books with a magnificent Irish Derby victory at the Curragh last weekend. Scooping a $1 million prize following his win in the English Derby, the John Oxx-trained speedster also gave Irish jockey Johnny Murtagh a classic double for the season.

Once King’s Best had to be pulled up by Pat Eddery, Sinndar looked to be in pole position, and although he was chased home by the Aidan O’Brien pair of Glyndebourne and Ciro, the nine-length victory was never in doubt.

Sinndar may now go in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe in the autumn where the main rival will be Montjeu.
