Slips and trips proving costly

More than 9,000 people in 2002 tripped or slipped and experienced minor injuries.
Compensation claims are very common, resulting in many small minor claims, which quickly add up.
No figures were available for the Irish Republic. The figures were revealed by the Health and Safety Executive of Northern Ireland, which also advised companies on how to reduce the number of minor accidents.
