Smith steps up in Irish dance world

More than 20 years later, at the North American championship last week, a man asked Smith if he had ever taught at the St. Mary’s orphanage in Newark, N.J. In that moment, that student, all grown up, was reunited with his teacher, the man who brought the joy of Irish dance into his life.
