Well, you’re in luck — Virgin Radio in the UK has compiled a list of the decade’s top “downbeat” songs. And, to no one’s great surprise, those cheery Gallagher brothers of Oasis came in at first and fourth place in the list of 100 songs to watch the rain by.
Oasis took top honors with 1995’s gigglefest “Wonderwall,” followed by The Verve’s “Bittersweet Symphony” and REM’s “Everybody Hurts.” Oasis pops up again with “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” and sneaks another ditty into the top 20, with “Whatever” charting at No. 14.
