DUBLIN — London nightclub impresario Peter Stringfellow is planning to spread his operations to Dublin and provide topless "table-side" dancing as an attraction during weeknights – but he says it will all be done with the best possible taste.

A previous club that included the attractions of "lap-dancing" for patrons shut down after it failed to catch on in Dublin.

Stringfellow said last week he is in "very serious" negotiations with a Dublin businessman for a joint venture club.

"It all seems its all go. If it is we hope to be open about June," he told RTE.

He said lap-dancing was a bad phrase with terrible connotations and his concept was table-side dancing where there was no touching between dancer and customer.

Stringfellow said he was looking at two possible locations in Dublin, one that will hold 600 and the other 500. He said he favors the smaller venue.

He will need a pool of about 50 dancers and initially intends to bring 10 women from London and then audition for women in Dublin.
