When workers discovered a new semiprecious stone in a Mozambique mine last week, Gecko Jewelers marketing whiz Steven Fine saw his chance to honor the Oscar-winning beauty. He dubbed the gem — a form of amazonite with a quartz-like grain — ?Star of Charlize.? The stone features very thin blue and gray stripes, which should complement Charlize?s light blue eyes. Fine planned to present a piece of jewelry, featuring a cut and polished stone, to the country?s most famous daughter.
As for Stuart, he will be seen next in ?The Return of James Battle? opposite Johnny Depp?s partner, French actress Vanessa Paradis, and ?Head in the Clouds,? opposite Charlize.
In more Charlize news, we hear that the actress will be able to afford practically any kind of sparkly rock that catchs her eye. Thanks to her Oscar win, her salary has shot up from $3 million to approximately $15 million per picture.
