Talk about a bloody good play!

Irish actress Fiona Shaw plays the murderous title character, a “Mommie Dearest”-type circa 4,500 B.C. Paramedics have been summoned more than once to administer smelling salts at the Booth Atkinson Theater in NYC after a gore-spattered Medea carries the bodies of her children onto the stage. Gives new meaning to the phrase “knockout performance.” Should be viewed only by people who understand the subtle difference between make-believe and reality.
