Tax allowances costly

According to latest Central Statistics Office figures, the number is significant given that total tax revenue is only euro 30 billion to date this year.
Already a government committee is examining which tax reliefs can be abolished.
Tax reliefs such as Ireland’s famous low corporate tax are likely to be spared.
Other minor tax breaks up for the chop relate to the horse breeding industry or the film industry.
