The Guinness Fleadh Ticket Giveaway

February 15, 2011

By Staff Reporter

Well, the rains have finally stopped and the sun is splitting the stones, which means that every real music fan’s thoughts have turned to the Guinness Fleadh. This year’s lineup is enough to knock anyone’s socks off, with Sinead O’Connor, the Chieftains, Chumbawumba, the Corrs, Tracy Chapman and the Saw Doctors topping the bill. Among the other stellar acts are Squeeze, Nanci Griffith, Mary Black, Patti Smith, X, Shane MacGowan, the Indigo Girls, Los Lobos and Paul Brady . . . whew! And we’ve barely scratched the surface – more than 60 bands will play on three stages.

The New York shindig will be held again at Randalls Island (off the northern tip of Manhattan) and will take place Saturday and Sunday, June 13 and 14. To get everyone in the mood for what promises to be a terrific weekend, we’re giving away two pairs of tickets per week.

One lucky winner will receive a pair of VIP tickets for the Saturday show, and the other winner will receive tickets for Sunday. Please indicate on the form which day you prefer to go (or, if you’re the easygoing sort, check “either day.”

Now, all you have to do to enter is answer a few embarrassingly simple questions, so here goes . . .

THE QUESTIONS

1. Sinead O’Connor is touring with the most famous Irish traditional band in the world. Name the band. (Hint: they’ll be playing at the Fleadh).
