The Hollywood star, who has been ordered to get into shape for the upcoming ?Mission: Impossible? three-quel, is working hard to lose the lard.
A German newspaper reports that the actor has been placed on a special low-fat, low-calorie regimen.
How serious is the edict? Well, Cruise is currently in the land of sauerbraten and Black Forest cake scouting locations for MI: III, and the chefs at the ritzy Four Seasons Hotel have strict instructions not to fatten him up. According to the paper, the kitchen staff ?have been told that Cruise is on a strict diet? and ?have been given a full list of what to serve the star when he gets hungry.? And it?s a sure bet that neither pretzels nor Snickers bars have made the cut.
In more Tom Cruise news, there seems to be some confusion as to whether he?s still dating sultry Spanish actress Penelope Cruz, whether he?s in the throes of a midlife crisis, and why he parted company with his longtime publicist. The London tabloid The Mirror reports that Cruise and Cruz were spotted having a tearful (on her part, anyway) dinner in Berlin soon after the public announcement of their split. Meanwhile, the Irish Independent quotes an unnamed ?L.A. celebrity publicist? who giggled, ?The two biggest mysteries in Hollywood are, why did Tom Cruise divorce Nicole, and why did he leave [his publicist] Pat Kingsley??”
