Tribunal tribulation

Current tribunals have cost euro 47.5 million to date and much more public money is yet to be spent.
Few people if any have been prosecuted by the tribunals, which have looked into cases of fraud, corruption and tax evasion on sometimes massive scales.
Barristers working for the tribunals routinely receive as much as euro 2,250 a day during full sessions.
The combined effect of the tribunals, designed to strengthen public confidence, has been the opposite, observers say.
