Tynan sang in the cathedral during last year’s funeral service for former President Ronald Reagan.The Presidential Inauguration Committee asked Tynan to participate after he sang for George and Barbara Bush’s 60th wedding anniversary at the White House earlier this month.
Tynan is a native of Johnstown, Co. Kilkenny. After leaving the Irish Tenors, he has performed at New York’s Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, and has appeared at the Belmont Stakes in New York, the annual Army-Navy football game, NASCAR events, and New York Yankees 2004 playoff games. He has also been featured in two documentaries shown on American television.
His new CD, “Ronan,” is due to be released in early spring by Decca-Universal Classics and features two songs co-written by Tynan as well as inspirational favorites and new material written for the singer.
