Tipperary vs. Waterford
Tipperary seem to be the most in-form and consistent senior hurling team at the moment as they strive to keep their unbeaten record intact. Their ranks are well fortified with seasoned campaigners such as Cummins, Sheperd, Quirke and the Kennedys.
Waterford will be anxious to turn things around after suffering two defeats. A win is imperative if they wish to be serious championship contenders. Expect the Duggans, Maher, Cusack and company to give it their best shot.
Prediction: Tipperary.

Leitrim vs. Westmeath
Leitrim were relatively easily disposed by Kerry in their last outing and they have a lot of holes to plug to get back on the winning track. Lots of help is needed up front and the defense needs tightening, plus Larry and Kenny are well rested.
Westmeath are solid at the back while they have workable midfield pairings. Up front it has mostly been the Ward show, but they will be hoping for greater contributions from the supporting cast. Of course, if the embargo is lifted, it could make it more interesting.
Prediction: Westmeath.

Offaly vs. Sligo
In this division Offaly often seem to be in a revolving door-like situation when the logical sequence would have been for them to step out and up. Despite a solid base of loyal players, they haven’t made the impact that many expected. McManus does yeojan work in the middle but more natural forwards (as Pat Spillane might say) are needed to assist Danny Leavy up front. A healthy Dave Reynolds could solve that problem.
Sligo are still right there in the midst of the standings and I’m sure the efforts of their fellow county men will give them a lift. They have assembled a useful squad with help from the St. Barnabas club to complement the efforts of Healy, Duffy, Brennan and company.
Prediction: Offaly.
