Vodka brand backs Black 47 tour

“Boru is helping us to tour harder-to-reach places,” said Black 47 lead singer, Larry Kirwan, who said the arrangement was mutually beneficial and “low-key.”
Boru, imported by Great Spirits Drinks Company in Queens, N.Y., is being advertised on telephone kiosks around New York at the moment.
“Basically, Boru told us to continue what we were doing and that they’d help us. You can’t ask better than that,” Kirwan said.
“We are thrilled to support Black 47’s exciting American and Irish tour,” said Roseann Sessa, Vice President — Marketing of Castle Brands, the producer and importer of Boru Vodka. “Our common cultural heritage and distinct identity within our respective audiences make this a great partnership.”
Kirwan said that because of the costs involved with touring, “there wasn’t much to be reached between Minneapolis and the West Coast itself.” He said that on the West Coast, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego were all big venues but the distances involved increased costs also.
Named after Brian Boru, the first high king of Ireland, Boru Vodka is made with grain and pure Irish spring water. It is quadruple distilled and filtered through three meters of Atlantic Irish Oak charcoal for purity. Boru Vodka is also available in Citrus and Orange flavors.
Kirwan admitted to being more of a whisky drinker but says he has taken to Boru well, as have three other Black 47 band members.
