The forum, however, is less about the past and more focused on the future and it will be interesting indeed to hear what Clinton has in mind should she end up being president.
Beyond this, there is continued hope that the forum, which is an open-ended affair, will also attract the eye of Barack Obama and John McCain.
Should Senator McCain signal his intention to participate it would ensure that the ’08 forum ranks alongside the ’92 gathering in historical terms.
It’s high time that a Republican candidate attended, and in McCain, Irish Americans justifiably harbor high hopes that here is a candidate who will deliver such a breakthrough.
