Cue single tear sliding down the face.
Now imagine that, on your way out of town, you run into one one of Shane’s bandmates — say, Kian Egan — standing at an ATM. And found out that he was super nice and friendly and willing to chat about the band and everything.
This happened to Terri Coleman last week, when the British teenager dragged the family to Sligo so that she could deliver a card and a silver frame as a wedding present to the singer. After leaving it with staff at the Filan family’s clothing store, she spotted Kian withdrawing money at the cashpoint machine.
They chatted amiably for a while, and Terri reports that the singer “is really nice.”
Her mother was grateful for the pop star’s thoughtfulness, but confided to the Sun newspaper that Terri would have been more thrilled to meet Shane.
“But we really couldn’t tell Kian,” she laughed.
