The best example of this kind of activity can be seen in Westlife. The band members treated themselves to expensive sports cars last year (in fact, they each bought the same model) and they like to date actresses and models (though, thankfully, not the same models).
Taking his cue from fellow ‘Lifer Bryan McFadden, heartthrob Kian Egan has announced that he’s picking out mittens (or whatever pop stars do) with his own Atomic Kitten. Kian is dating Liz McClarnon, who replaced Bryan’s wife, Kerry Katona, when she left the sandbox a few years ago.
Kian confides that he and Liz are only in the early stages of a romantic relationship.
“We haven’t been seeing each other for too long,” he said. “[We met] four years ago, when [Westlife] did the Smash Hits tour with Atomic Kitten. We were friends for a long time.”
Liz says that she and Kian are taking it slow, but that she’s enjoying the — yikes! We almost said ride! — the progress of the relationship.
“Kian is really lovely,” she purred. “It’s early days and we are both really happy.”
Neither of the pop stars are looking too far into the future at this point.
“Let’s just wait and see what happens,” said the sensible Liz, who probably figures that St. Valentine’s Day will show Kian’s true intentions. And Kian had better step lively if he wants to impress her, since he admits that he has nothing planned yet.
“I will, though,” he vowed. Ah, romance.
In more Westlife news, we’re happy to report that Bryan and Kerry have welcomed a new bundle of joy into the family. Little Lilly Sue McFadden made her debut last week, weighing in at a healthy 7 pounds, 7 ounces. Both mother and baby are doing fine. And, keeping it all in the (Westlife) family, bandmate Shane Filan has been asked to be Lilly’s godfather.
