Wicklow: back to school

February 16, 2011

By Staff Reporter

Molly Keogh will sit her junior certificate next year, according to the Wicklow People newspaper, and is already an accomplished user of the Internet.
“I think it’s great that I can have this second chance,” she said. “I’d recommend it to anybody.”
She began a VEC-sponsored course in computers and English at the Dunlavin parish center in July of last year, passed exams a few months ago, and is now preparing for the Junior Cert English exam next June.
Keogh had previously worked as a babysitter, housekeeper and a weaver. She could only ‘get by’ with reading, she said. Now she is completely literate.
