Wider horizons for Aer Lingus

The plan will allow Aer Lingus to code-share on the routes and Minister for Transport Seamus Brennan is being urged to alter the bilateral agreement with the U.S. that governs air travel to allow the opportunity to go ahead.
The arrangement means that a traveler could use an Aer Lingus ticket to reach destinations that conclude using an American Airlines connection.
Check-in and baggage would be taken care of at the point of departure.
Aer Lingus argues that there are many potential U.S. visitors to Ireland who simply do not live close enough to the five airports from which it currently flies.
