According to British bookies, producers of the project, which goes by the working title ?Bond 21,? believe that Kylie — and her famous rear end — will put plenty of bums in seats. They?ve dropped the odds from 4-1 to 2-1 in favor of Kylie shaking the proverbial martini. According to the British tabloids, Kylie?s signing is a done deal.
?It?s just a matter of whether she?ll play the ?good? Bond girl or the ?evil? Bond girl,? a source told the Daily star.
Irish actor Pierce Brosnan who, despite rumors to the contrary, is still Bond-ed to the part, is said to favor British actress Keira Knightly for the pivotal role. Which would be fine, except that the ?Bend it Like Beckham? star is, like, only 19 years old to his rather distinguished 51. Next to her dewy youthfulness, how will he hide the crows? feet?
Minogue, who turns 37 this year, would probably be able to hold her own in the acting department — she is a veteran of the Aussie soap opera ?Neighbors.? Especially since ?Bond Girl? dialogue consists of little more than squealing ?Help, James!? and ?Oh, James!?

Let?s hope actor Matthew Broderick has a tight grip on his ego — or at least, a healthy sense of humor. This week, London?s News of the World reports that ?Sex and the City? star Sarah Jessica Parker is planning to set up house in the English capital, near the theater district. Oh, and by the way, Matt will be relocating as well. He?s going to star in the West End production of his hit show, ?The Producers,? though he obviously can?t compete with the missus in the fashion stakes.
Best rumor floating around at the moment is that Irish actors Liam Neeson and Colin Farrell may team up to play cowboys in a remake of ?The Spoilers.? If this goes ahead, it will be sixth screen adaptation of the novel by Rex Beach. Previous costars have included Gary Cooper and William Boyd in the 1930 version; Randolph Scott and John Wayne in 1942 and Rory Calhoun and Jeff Chandler in 1955.
Jim Carrey says that his new movie, ?Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,? in which the characters find they can erase painful memories from their minds, is a ?love letter? to all of his ex-girlfriends. The twice-married comedian notes that while his own love life has been far from happy, he ?would never want a person erased completely? from his memory. ?In my time, I?ve done the erasing and I?ve been erased,? said Carrey, who was married twice — to Melissa Wormer and Lauren Holly — and engaged once — to actress Renee Zellweger. ?[Being erased] is never a pleasant feeling,? he said.
