The Slane Castle shows, which marked the end the European leg of the band’s “Elevation” tour, sold out in record time, with the first 80,000 disappearing in under two hours. Public outcry prompted officials to waive the longstanding rule limiting Slane to one show per year, so 80,000 more tickets went on sale. They also flew out the door in less than two hours.
The concert DVD features 19 tracks, plus some really cool features. The best among them is the 1984 documentary, “The Unforgettable Fire,” which shows the band recording such classics as “Pride [In the Name of Love]” in the castle.
