Biography: Want to know what makes American travelers sit up and take notice? Galway native Lisa Kearns could be a good first stop for questions, having spent the past five years working with U.S. media to entice viewers and readers across North America to pack their bags and travel to Europe. Lisa started her career in the hospitality industry at the Jurys Doyle Hotel Group, working with the Marketing and Press team in their Dublin headquarters during the restructure from Jurys Doyle to The Doyle Collection. In 2009 she moved to New York to take up a position with Tourism Irelands PR and Communications team. Two short years later Lisa shifted her attention from Ireland to Britain, joining the VisitBritain PR and Communications team in February 2011 to work on the media programs surrounding the Royal Wedding and Visit to North America. The period was a highlight for the then 26 year old, allowing her to send hundreds of media members from the top U.S. television networks to London and beyond to film hours of destination footage. Lisa is a graduate of NUI Galway where she earned a degree in Commerce, before moving on to UCD Michael Smurfit School of Business in UCD to study for a Masters in Marketing. A native of Williamstown in County Galway, she now resides in the slightly more congested Financial District in Manhattan and regularly travels to Ireland.
