Biography: Stephen is the son of John and Nancy Carty of Wilton, Ballymackey, Nenagh Co. Tipperary. He has three sisters Margaret, Catherine and Rachel and four nieces and two nephews. Before immigrating to New York he proudly wore the black and white jersey for the Kilruane McDonaghs GAA Club. On arrival in New York Stephen quickly became involved in the Tipperary Hurling Club where he served as both a player and a selector. Stephen is involved in local community affairs joining the Eastchester Chamber of Commerce and the Eastchester Irish Organization. Stephen spends his not too plentiful down time trying hard to improve his golf game through the Spillanes Golf Society, led this year by Barry Carr and Denis Shehan. He also acts as a soccer coach to his avid Liverpool supporter son Sean in the Eastchester youth soccer league. Stephen is married to Geraldine Clear, daughter of Con and Margaret Clear, and they have one other son Conor, who is two.
