Name of company: The New Deck Tavern.

The New Deck Tavern has been nestled on historical Sansom Street in University City, Philadelphia since 1986. Our restaurant and tavern is located in three renovated second empire style row houses built in the late 1800’s. The block was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.

With a liquor license dating back to 1933, the year Prohibition came to an end, The Deck, which it is often referred to as, was originally located on the 3400 Block of Walnut Street. After its ten year break, the Deck was reopened at its current location and has been pleasing customers ever since.

The New Deck is located in the heart of University City. Just steps to the University of Pennsylvania’s Law School, Drexel University, U of P’s Annenberg Center for Performing Arts, Franklin Field, The Palestra and both Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia & HUP.

Opened in 2007, Sláinte Bar and Grill is staking its place as one of the greatest Irish Pub and Restaurants in Philadelphia. Visitors leaving the main train station in Philadelphia are greeted by the Sláinte sign.

Founded by Mike Doyle, “Ireland’s man in Philadelphia,” who passed away in 2008, the New Deck and Sláinte are now run by his daughters Cathleen and Denise, as well as his son, Mike Jr
