Why I chose this career: With a grandfather, father, uncle, and sister in law enforcement, a career in the FBI seemed like a perfect fit for someone interested in public service.

The proudest moment of my career: Winning the 2010 Top Cop award at the White House with President Obama and my family in attendance.

I celebrate my Irish heritage by: Trying to uphold the immigrant Irish values held dear by my grandparents: faith in family and God, hard work, loyalty, and a fierce appreciation for all this country has given us.

Biography

After graduating from Fordham Law School in 1993, Brian O’Rourke joined the New York County District Attorney’s Office as a prosecutor where he enjoyed a highly successful trial record. In 1997, Brian left the District Attorney’s Office to join the FBI. While at the FBI, Brian worked in a number of different areas including: Violent Crimes/ Major Offenders, Narcotics, the Joint Terrorism Task Force, and FBI HQ and overseas supervisor. He has deployed to Afghanistan, Central America, and Eastern Europe in support of FBI missions. Over the course of his career, Brian was recognized twice as case agent of the year and once as the Attorney General award winner. Brian is currently pursuing an LLM in Banking, Corporate, and Finance Law at Fordham Law School.
