Name: Eddie Gilmartin 

Biography: Eddie Gilmartin grew up in Twinbrook, Belfast. When the political situation in the North of Ireland had a very large impact on Eddie’s father, Eddie was afforded the opportunity to spend a summer in the USA. He was set up with the McGillycuddy family through an extraordinary organization, Project Children, founded by retired NYPD officer Denis Mulcahey. He was invited back year after year to the same family eventually coming to live in the US at the age of 15. Along with the McGillycuddy family, Eddie owns a radiant heat company, Calorique LLC. Calorique is the leading manufacturer of flexible film radiant heat which is used in a number of applications including primary home heating and under floor heat. After a year of research and with all the sustainable, renewable energy initiatives and Calorique’s zero carbon footprint, Eddie decided to buy the company which he believes is the future of residential and commercial heating. Eddie has been instrumental in growing Calorique into a large successful company which continues to grow exponentially.

 


Name: Jennifer Holdsworth-Kleinman  

Biography: Jennifer Holdsworth Kleinman began an interest in politics and government at a very young age through her maternal Grandfather, whose family hails from County Cork, and who was active in local and statewide campaigns. In High School, Jennifer was selected as a Presidential Classroom Scholar and spent time in Washington, DC studying Congress and the Presidency. Jennifer went on to college at Rowan University and earned a degree in political science and international relations. There, she served two terms as the Student Government President. Upon graduation, Jennifer became extremely active in several democratic campaigns. She then served as a Congressional Aide to Rep. Steven R. Rothman, where she focused on constituent services. Jennifer also served as the legislative aide to Bernadette P. McPherson, Chairwoman of the Bergen County Freeholder Board. Jennifer received her Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2008. While at Seton Hall Law, Jennifer studied human trafficking and war crimes in Africa. She spent time at the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda and with the Maasai tribe in Zanzibar. Upon her return, Jennifer represented victims of human trafficking and indigent clients seeking political asylum with the law school’s Immigration and Human Rights Clinic. She continues to lecture on the subject of human rights to high school and college students. Jennifer served as the law clerk to the Honorable Patrick J. Roma, Judge of the Superior Court, Criminal Division, before going on to private practice. Most recently, Jennifer was appointed the Clerk to the Bergen County Board of Chosen Freeholders, where she has served for the last seven months.

 


Name: Matt Huenerfauth 

Biography: Dr Matt Huenerfauth is a leading researcher in the field of computer accessibility for people with disabilities. He has secured over $1.25 million in research funding, including a prestigious National Science Foundation CAREER Award. He is an editor of the major scientific journal in his field and author of 28 peer-reviewed scientific journal articles, book chapters, and conference papers – twice receiving the Best Paper award at the annual international research conference in his field. Maintaining a 4.0 grade point average, he earned several degrees: PhD and MSE (University of Pennsylvania), MSc (University College Dublin), and MS and BS (University of Delaware).

 


Name: Rebekah Huie 

Biography: Rebekah Huie is the North American Sales Manager for The Lodge at Doonbeg in Co Clare, Ireland. She has held this position for the past four years and spends most of her time traveling the US promoting Doonbeg, which has evolved into one of the top resorts in Europe. Originally from Pittsburgh, PA she has spent a large part of her life in the south, which she refers to as home; currently residing in Charleston, SC. she is a graduate of Elon University, where she studied Communications and Sports Management, she eventually found her way to a career in travel and golf with Doonbeg. With her family roots stemming from Tipperary long ago, she has thoroughly enjoyed being submersed in the Irish culture and strives to call Ireland home in the near future.

 


Name: Bill Hurley 

Biography: BILL Hurley was born in New York City to Eugene Hurley and Margaret Schaefler. He has one brother named Peter. William moved to Riverdale in 2003 to care for his grandfather. After attending many different colleges within the CUNY system, William began his current position as Library and Archives Curator of the American Irish Historical Society. In this role he preserves the legacy and records of the strong connection between Ireland and the US in the 19th and 20th centuries.

 


Name: Sean Kearns 

Biography: Sean Kearns was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He is the son of Mary Kearnsa and grandson of Doc and Jeannie Kearns. Sean has been married to his wife, Janelle since October 2010. The St Patrick’s Day parade was handed down to Sean from his grandfather. Sean is the youngest and longest running parade chairman in Houston parade history. Sean’s first Houston St Patrick’s Day Parade was when he was six months old. This year will be his 34th parade. Sean has been employed with Oasis Fire Protection for six years. He is very dedicated to his job and loves the challenges it has brought him. He is diehard Houston Texans fan. Sean is a loving family man and a great friend to have. Sean hopes to one day pass down the tradition of the parade along to his children.

 


Name: Edward Kelly 

Biography: Ed Kelly was born in Boston on December 19, 1973. He was one of six children. Ed has three brothers and two sisters. Ed is a veteran of the US Air Force, where he served as a firefighter. Ed was brought up in a firefighting family. His grandfather, father and uncle all were Boston firefighters. Ed also has two of his brothers Boston firefighters. Early on, Ed was elected to the Executive Board of the firefighters Local 718. He followed that by sucessfully running for President of the union. In this position, Ed was able to negoiate one of the best contracts the union has had. Ed stepped down as President of Local 718 to return to the firehouse. He is assigned to Tower Ladder 17, the busiest fire truck in Boston. Ed also serves as President of the Professional Firefighters of Massachusetts, which represents 12,000 career firefighters and paramedics across the state. Ed is the youngest person ever to lead this prestigious labor union. Ed has visited Ireland and gone to his grandmother, Sarah McLaughlin’s neighborhood on Iles Road in Buncrana in County Donegal. Ed has also toured the countryside and is looking forward to bringing his children there. Ed’s wife also lived for three years in Ireland, in Galway and in County Waterford, where she coached the Waterford Wildcats, a pro basketball team.

 


Name: Christopher J. Lavery 

Biography: Christopher J. Lavery is a graduate of Portobello College, Dublin (LLB) and Boston College Law School (JD). A native of Belfast, Lavery regularly provides free legal advice to immigrants throughout Massachusetts. Lavery has spoken on immigration issues before the Coalition of Irish Immigration Centers and the American Immigration Lawyers’ Association and published articles on immigration. He is past chair of the Irish Pastoral Centre, Quincy, Massachusetts and has received the Charitable Irish Society’s Silver Key Award, the Irish Immigration Center’s Appreciation Award and the PAIR Project’s Detention Attorney Award. He practices in Canton, Massachusetts for the Law Offices of CJ Lavery, PC.

 


Name: Andy Lee 

Biography: Currently ranked fifth internationally by the World Boxing Association, Andy Lee is regarded as Ireland’s best middleweight prospect and its best bet for glory at 160 pounds.The Limerick southpaw has after six years as a professional under Hallof Fame trainer Emanuel Steward amassed an impressive 24-1 ledger with18 wins by knockout. Lee’s next fight on March 12 against undefeated Scotsman Craig McEwan in Connecticut could earn him a world title shot this year. Stylish in the ring with power in either hand, Lee started boxing at age eight in London and later honed his skills at the St. Francis ABC in Limerick City.His glittering amateur career was highlighted by a silver medal at the2002 World Junior championships, two Irish senior titles and a bronze medal at the 2004 European Amateur Boxing Championships. The latter accomplishment qualified him for the Athens Olympics that same year where he was Ireland’s sole representative.More importantly, Lee’s successes over American opposition in the amateur ranks garnered him attention from many leading US trainers including the legendary Steward, the man behind the phenomenal success of Thomas ‘The Hitman’ Hearns, Lennox Lewis, Oscar De La Hoya and Wladimir Klitschko to name a few. Steward signed Lee to a manager-trainer contract in 2006 and the Irish star joined the American’s famed Kronk stable in Detroit, Michigan.Steward has long touted the lanky 26 year-old Lee as the best middleweight in the world and believes that he will be vindicated in 2011.

 


Name: Meghan Linehan 

Biography: Meghan Linehan is very humbled to be included in this group. Since she began traveling with Speaker Quinn in 2009, Meghan has literally had a front row seat to all facets of City government, learning daily from a truly exceptional teacher, continually discovering the hidden treasures of these five boroughs. She also had the distinct privilege of accompanying the Speaker to Belfast and the place of their shared heritage, County Cork. Meghan would like to thank her parents, Jerry and Maureen, brother Sean, and the entire Linehan and Kerins clans for their unending love and support.
