Eddie Gilmartin

Eddie Gilmartin

Owner, Calorique LLC

Age: 34

Place of Birth: Belfast, Ireland

Where you live: Astoria, New York

First Job: Soccer coach at Rockland Community College summer camp

What it taught me: The importance of a good work ethic at an early age as well as the enjoyment of working with a lot of people.

Status: Single

Three things people would be surprised to know about me:

1. That I am a business man. Most people think I am a bartender.

2. That I love dogs even though I am alergic.

3. That I am great with young kids.

Best advice you could give someone starting out: The effort you put in at an early stage of your career will pay huge dividends in the long run. Find something you love to do and it no longer feels like work.

Eddie Gilmartin grew up in Twinbrook, Belfast. When the political situation in the North of Ireland had a very large impact on Eddie’s father, Eddie was afforded the opportunity to spend a summer in the USA.

He was set up with the McGillycuddy family through an extraordinary organization, Project Children, founded by retired NYPD officer Denis Mulcahey.

He was invited back year after year to the same family eventually coming to live in the US at the age of 15. Along with the McGillycuddy family, Eddie owns a radiant heat company, Calorique LLC. Calorique is the leading manufacturer of flexible film radiant heat which is used in a number of applications including primary home heating and under floor heat.

After a year of research and with all the sustainable, renewable energy initiatives and Calorique’s zero carbon footprint, Eddie decided to buy the company which he believes is the future of residential and commercial heating. Eddie has been instrumental in growing Calorique into a large successful company which continues to grow exponentially.
