OLDEST IRISH AMERICAN NEWSPAPER IN USA, ESTABLISHED IN 1928

Rebekah Huie

Rebekah Huie

North American Sales Manager, the Lodge at Doonbeg

Age: 28

Place of Birth: Pittsburgh, PA

Where you live: Charleston, SC

First Job: Waitress

What it taught me: People skills, the value of customer service and the ability to laugh at myself. Waitressing provides ample opportunities for being a clutz, which is much more fun when you can laugh it off!

Status: Single

Three things people would be surprised to know about me:

1. I travel for a living yet am terrified of flying

2.  If I could be anything in the world, it would be a country singer

3. I played Junior Olympic volleyball. (all 5’4” of me!)

Best advice you could give someone starting out: Give any job a chance. What might start out as something less than ideal can change drastically in the season of a year.

Chances are your first job or two are not going to be where you establish your career, but they will be fundamental stepping stones to get you to that perfect job; no matter how insignificant they may seem at the time.

I truly believe you must give any job a full 12 month cycle before developing any firm opinions.
