Sean Patrick Riordan

Sean Patrick Riordan

Attorney at Sherman Federman Sambur & McIntyre, LLP

Age: 33

Place of Birth: New York

Where you live: East Islip, New York

First Job: Waiter

What it taught me: If you aren’t doing something with your time, then you are neglecting something important.

Status: Married

Family: Wife Elizabeth, son Jackson, daughter Isabella

Three things people would be surprised to know about me:

1. I have seen ‘Finding Nemo’ at least 1,000 times.

2. I am an avid Jay-Z fan.

3. I actually enjoy watching C-SPAN.

Best advice you could give someone starting out: Talk to as many people as you can and actually listen to what they are saying. Become friends with those that you meet, as the best business relationships are built on friendship.

After graduating from St. John’s University School of Law, SEAN PATRICK RIORDAN immediately began working with labor unions to protect injured workers’ rights.

Through such work Sean became deeply involved in 9/11 First Responder issues and for years lobbied Congress for the passage of the ‘James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act.’

Happily, President Obama signed the act into law on January 2, 2011. As a second generation Irish-American, Sean has always felt a deep connection with his Irish heritage.

As past president of the Nassau County Brehon Law Society and board member of the Society of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, Sean has advocated for human and civil rights in Northern Ireland and the continuation of the ongoing peace process.
