Peder Madsen led Teikyo Post in scoring with 12 points, but the Eagles lost to Assumption, 81-66. Madsen, a junior from Dublin, shot 4-for-14 from the field, including 1-for-5 from three-point range. He was 3-for-5 from the foul line. Madsen also handed out three assists.

Teammate Mick Richardson was right behind in the scoring column with 11 points, although his shooting eye was less than spectacular. The senior forward from Dublin made 3-for-14 from the floor and

4-for-4 from the line. He also had six rebounds. Post is now 8-2.

Gary Dredge grabbed six rebounds and blocked a shot as Azusa Pacific defeated The Masters College, 72-67. Dredge, a junior from Clondalkin, Co. Dublin, finished with two points. Azusa then

knocked off Albertson College, 86-69. Dredge once again scored two points from the foul line and grabbed five rebounds. The Cougars improved to 11-1.

Susan Moran’s 25 points against Rutgers may look impressive at first glance, but they were a little like receiving candy-coated coal in her Christmas stocking, coming as they did in St. Joseph’s 80-38 loss to the Scarlet Knights. The bulk of Moran’s points, 13, came from the foul line. The remainder came on 6-for-19 shooting from the floor. The junior from Tullamore, Co. Offaly also had six rebounds. St. Joe’s, now 4-5, was down by only six at the half to seventh-ranked Rutgers, but was plagued by turnovers in the second half. St. Joe’s committed 25 turnovers in the game to Rutgers’ seven.

Manhattan’s women lost to George Mason, 61-54. Siobhan Kilkenny, the sophomore from Castlebar, Co. Mayo, finished with six points, shooting 2-for-7. She converted one of two free throws. The Lady Jaspers are 6-3.
