Fans of traditional Irish music, song, dance and humor may again enjoy an exhilarating musical show from 16 performers from Ireland when the annual Comhaltas tour arrives in Pearl River on this Sunday, Oct. 24 at 6 p.m., marking the end of a North American tour that featured 18 concerts.

The gala concert, entitled "Echoes of Erin," will feature sean nós singing, step-dancing, jigs, reels and hornpipes on the whistle, flute, accordion, fiddle, harp, bodhrán and uileann pipes.

This is the 28th annual tour to North America sponsored by Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, the organization founded in Ireland in 1951 to preserve and promote the native music and dance of Ireland. The tour has helped spawn almost 40 Comhaltas branches throughout North America, including six in the metropolitan New York area.

For the fourth year in a row, the Pearl River High School will be the closest venue in Bergen and Rockland Counties; it is located at 275 East Central Avenue in Pearl River, behind the Shoprite parking lot. There is parking on premises.

Tickets are $15 and may be ordered in advance by calling (201) 722-0059.
