Golf Outings: Spellman Golf Outing in Elmsford

The 6th annual Cardinal Spellman Golf Outing will take place Sept. 14 at the Knollwood Country Club in Elmsford, N.Y. The $250 contribution includes locker room, green fees, golf carts, brunch, cocktails, dinner, tournament prizes and door prizes. Proceeds from the event will benefit Cardinal Spellman High School, its students and educational programs. For information, call (718) 547-4732.

Croí golf in Mahopac

The third annual golf tournament to benefit Croí, the West of Ireland Cardiology Foundation, will take place Sept. 11 in Putnam Country Club in Mahopac, N.Y. Shotgun start is at 9:30 a.m. entry fee is $175 per person and $700 for a fourball. These prices cover green fees, cart, breakfast, lunch, dinner with 3-hour open bar, attendance at awards presentation ceremony and entry to Croí’s special auction. The first prize is the Bernard Lynch perpetual Trophy, as well as two round trip tickets to Ireland, a rent a car in Ireland, a stay in a top Dublin grade A hotel and four rounds of golf at Druid’s Glen. Among the items on the block is a 1963 Bentley, four original oil paintings by Irish artists. Hibernian golf classic

The annual Hibernian charity golf classic, sponsored by Div. 8 AOH, will take place on Sept. 21 at 1 p.m. at Sayville Golf Course, West Sayville, N.Y. There will be four-man scrabbles and shotgun start. A hole in one offers two automobiles and $10,000 in cash. A fee of $110 per person includes BBQ lunch, windbreaker, green fees, cart, refreshments, dinner and three-hour open bar and prizes. All profits go to the AOH Div. 8 Cultural Fund. The Jim Murphy Memorial Golf Outing will take place Sept. 21 at the Wheatly Hills Golf Club in East Williston, L.I. The $250 contribution includes locker room, green fees, golf carts, brunch, deluxe cocktail buffet, tournament prizes and door prizes. Proceeds will benefit the academic scholarship program at Msgr. Emerald Society

The Emerald Society of the Queens Private Bus Lines, Inc., will hold its first benefit golf outing on Sept. 26, with tee off at noon, at the Douglaston Golf Course.

The price per golfer will be $90, which includes golf, golf cart, beverage and hot dog at the turn. All golfers will receive prizes at the course and prizes at the awards buffet afterwards. After golfing there will be a three-hour open bar and hot buffet at the Joyce Kilmer Knights of Columbus, 35-79 160th Street, Flushing. There will be a 50-50 drawing at the awards dinner. Non-golfers are welcome to attend the open bar and buffet for $20. There will be trophies presented for low net, low gross, closest to the pin and for longest drive.

Irish Way Outing

The Irish American Cultural Institute’s Second Annual Irish Way Golf Outing wiil be held on Monday, Oct. 5, at Rock Spring Country Club in West Orange, N.J.

The price per golfer is $200 and the day’s program includes gifts, barbecue lunch, greens fee, golf cart, cocktails, awards, dinner, and prizes.

All contributions will benefit the Irish Way: the Irish American Cultural Institute’s five week summer program for American high school students to tour and study in Ireland.
