CT and Bono crossed paths in the bad old days, when Christy’s fellow catwalker Naomi Campbell was engaged to U2 bassist Adam Clayton. Though that union didn’t end in “I dos,” the relationship paid dividends for all concerned: the U2 guys got a sexy new image, courtesy of their model posse, and the mannequins looked positively cerebral by association.
Christy and Ed had originally planned to tie the knot in the South of France back in 2001. But after the tragic events of Sept. 11, Ed insisted on postponing the ceremony, citing security concerns. Christy disagreed, and the couple split.
Eventually, the pair reconciled. Now, the Sunday Independent reports that the wedding is on again, and that the guest list will include such luminaries as Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks and Robert De Niro. Which means that all concerned might be feeling a little performance anxiety, given the exalted company. Here’s a tip, gleaned from our many years of reporting on wedding etiquette: no matter what the priest asks, just say “I do.”
