One out of every 250 people in Ireland is a millionaire, according to a survey by Merrill Lynch and Cap Gemini Ernst and Young.
The survey was carried out using U.S. dollar terms, and shows that Ireland has 15,000 millionaires and that the number is increasing.
The survey looked at financial assets excluding real estate.
The “2002 World Wealth Report” said that almost 200,000 people around the world joined the millionaire ranks last year.
However, only two of the world’s billionaires are Irish. They are Tony O’Reilly and John Dorrance of Campbell’s Soups.
