At Indian Field in Woodlawn on Saturday, the U-10 St. Raymonds defeated Rangers by 4-2 to 1-6. Raymonds scorers were Stefon Mante 2-1, Padraig O’Connor 1-0, Edmund Kellagher 1-0, Thomas Enright 0-1.
Raymonds goalkeeper Thomas Dewnear brought off some tremendous saves. Rangers fought gallantly and got great efforts from Ronan McGoldrick, who scored 1-2, from Brendan Cullinan 0-2, Shane O’Brien, Martin Lowery and Denis Collins.
In the under-12 game, the result was Rangers 5-5, St. Raymonds 1-4. Chris Cassels, Errol Akoi, Stephen Cassels, Sean Twomey, P.J. Wagner, Michael O’Sullivan, Chad Egan and Michael Corrigy were the marksmen for Rangers. Kathleen Enright, Mark McCaffrey, Conor Brady excelled for St. Raymonds.
At Rockland
At Rockland on Sunday the replay of the U-18 championship between St. Josephs and St. Barnabas lacked the tension, drama and excitement of the drawn game. The final score was St. Josephs 2-5, St. Barnabas 1-6.
Player of the game, Ian Young, St. Josephs, who was also their top marksman scoring 1-3. Also excelling for St. Josephs, Pat Maguire 1-1, captain Gerry Gillespie, John Creegan 0-1; Declan Gourley, P.J. Ferris, Declan Quinn and Chris Clarke in defense.
