Minor Board Roundup Hat trick of wins for Rockland, Celtics

In perfect football weather at Rockland Park on Saturday afternoon, Rockland took three of the four games from St. Barnabas.

In the best game of the day, the under 12 contest was won by Rockland 0-3 to 0-0. Outstanding for Rockland were Gary Ginley, Patrick Sweeney, Brian Walsh and Caleb Chang, who was superb. Brian Burns, Kyle Hannon, Brian McGovern and Pete Shea were excellent for St. Barnabas.

The under-10 game was won by St. Barnabas, 2-0 to 0-0. St. Barnabas got great performance from Paudrig McDaid, Brian McGovern, Patrick Hallinan and Rory McHugh. Kevin Seevey, Martin Fogarty, Declan White and Emmet McGrade excelled for Rockland.

The under 14 result was Rockland 2-6, St. Barnabas 1-0. Rockland got a great game from Brian Fennell, Billy Cosgrove, Ray Dader and Kevin Spellman. St. Barnabas’ best performers were Gary Harrison, John Mulligan, Brendan Mulroy and Doug Brady.

Under 16’s Rockland had it pretty easy with a score of 5-10 to St. Barnabas 2-4. Rockland got nice performance James Donahue, Sean Moughty, Shane Hogan and Tom McVeigh. Starring for St. Barnabas was Sean Moyles, Neil Brouder, Mat Brady and David Hannon.

At Paddy’s Field, it was Celtics taking three of four from St. Raymond’s.

In the under 10 contest, Celtic had an easy victory, 4-5 to 1-1. Outstanding for Celtics were Rory Cregan, Daniel Tierney, Allison Traynor, Carl McGovern and C.J. Malloy, while Chris Nolan, Denis Kilkenny, John Brosnan and Thomas Enright excelled for St. Raymond’s.

The under 12 game was Celtics 3-5, St. Raymond’s 1-3 with Ciera McArdle, Conor McKeon, Brendan and Russ Guierra and Chris Colleran having great displays for Celtics. Sean and Conor Brady, Peter Smith, Steve Greaney and Shane McDonnell tried hard for St. Raymond’s.

In a well-contested under 14 game, St. Raymond’s came away victorious with a score of 4-3 to Celtics 2-4. St. Raymond’s got great performances from Michael Greaney, Christian O’Neill, Brendan Cregan, Peter Cassells and James Huvane. Best for Celtics, John McArdle, Gary McGurk, Brian Slattery, Michael Woods and Josh Conta.

In the last game, the Celtics under 16’s rallied to win, 2-11 to 2-1. Topping the list for Celtics were Jamie Lally, Sean Farrelly, Edward Sheeran and Kevin O’Meara. Catching the eye for St. Raymond’s were Mark Centrowitz, Peter Davis, Michael Sullivan, Eddie McCormack and Ken Vancoure.

Rangers victory

On Sunday morning in Paddy’s Field, Rangers topped St. Joseph in the under 10’s and 12’s. Best for Rangers under 10’s were Ronan McGoldrick, Pete Cassells, Matt Anderson and Brendan Cullinan. Trying hard for St. Joe’s were Chris Fitzsimons, Daniel Devlin, Rory Gurley and Colleen Gilly.

Looking good in the under 12’s Pat Berna, Peter Woods, Lorkin Malone, Kevin O’Shea for Rangers. St. Joe’s got nice performances Jimmy and Michael Ruane and Tommy Culligan.
