Junior Hurling Semifinal

Tipperary vs. New Jersey

With the Tipperary senior team among the favorites for the hurling championship, the junior side will be hoping to make it a double in this clash versus their New Jersey counterparts. With last year’s champs Galway knocked out of the championship earlier in the season, it gives the likes of the two sides in action here an opportunity to nip in and steal the title from Galway.

Senior Hurling

Westmeath vs. Waterford

Two of the championship’s dark horses face off in a contest with the eventual winners pushing themselves up there among the big two, Limerick and Tipperary.

Waterford, as has been mentioned many times in the past, were underdogs for this year’s championship, having suffered a major exodus of players in the off season. They have, however, seemingly overcome that problem and are now hoping to push all the way for a decent shot at the championship.

Westmeath is still looking to regain the form that saw them clinch so many titles in the past 15 years. Recently their form seems to have escaped them, but surely they’ll be back.

Senior Football Championship Quarterfinal

Donegal vs. Clare

A big day out for The Bannermen. The lads from Clare finished third in the standings behind Offaly and Rockland, and therefore clinched the third playoff spot from the lower senior division. It will not be easy, however.

Donegal is still seeking their first championship since 1992, and having been among the favorites for glory a number of times in the past couple of seasons, they will hope to take advantage of the poor form shown recently by their rivals Tyrone and Kerry to move in and grab the silverware.

Senior Football Div. 1

Leitrim vs. Tyrone

Tyrone opened the year as clearly the side to watch, steamrolling their way to the top of the table with a number of impressive wins. Recently though, their good fortune has eluded them, and they have slipped to fifth position in the table. Sure to be an exciting clash.
