Junior Football Division A

Rangers vs. Tyrone

12:30 p.m.

This is a crucial clash for both sides.

Tyrone haven’t gotten off to the best of starts this season, and Denis Twomey’s Blues hope to take full advantage of that fact as they aim to turn their season around and clinch the championship points. It won’t be easy, as both sides are chasing the points, perhaps for different reasons, but I feel Rangers may just sneak through here.

Limerick vs. Westmeath

2 p.m.

Limerick annihilated Clare last week at Gaelic Park, and certainly proved to the crowd that they’re out to mean business this year. Following their draw with Offaly earlier in the season, many an eyebrow was raised as to how this Limerick side would claw their way back into contention, but judging from last week’s performance versus Clare, the Greens are back.

Westmeath are one of the darker horses for glory this year, and I feel that’s exactly how they want it. They could well provide a shock this week, so miss this one if you dare.

Senior Football Division 1

Kerry vs. Stamford

3:30 p.m.

This game features two teams fresh off championship victories from last week.

Stamford gave Westmeath a six-point beating, whereas champions Kerry inflicted a heavy defeat over former champions Leitrim.

You can be sure the crowds will be out to witness arguably two of the best supported sides in New York, and though Stamford will surely put up a fight against the Kingdom, I feel Kerry will gain victory, as they are on fire right now.

Senior Football Division 1

Roscommon vs. Rockland

5 p.m.

Rockland have surprised every one with their exciting brand of football in this their very first season playing top division football, and in gathering together a couple of crucial victories, don’t bet against this young side making it to the top flight.

Roscommon will be out for victory however, to bolster their own playoff hopes, and what a great match to finish off the holiday weekend.
