Kerry vs. Mayo

1 p.m.

Mayo’s last appearance at Gaelic Park resulted in a defeat to Donie Sullivan’s Celtics side. Kerry, on the other hand, won their last game here when they beat Offaly by five points.

Both sides really need the win to keep in contention for glory this season, especially in a division with the free-scoring Longford side.

Clare vs. Westmeath

2:30 p.m.

Clare recently put up a brave fight versus Limerick before going down by five points, and on Sunday they were forced to a draw by an Offaly side who until the minutes following half time were well in front.

Clare and Westmeath will both be aiming for victory to ensure they are not left behind by the big three of Kilkenny, Limerick and Tipperary.

Cork v.s Donegal

4 p.m.

Cork were hammered by Monaghan earlier in the season and will try to get that setback out of their system. Donegal, though, are a historically strong side, and included among their lineup will surely be a number of the New York panelists who have returned from their bout versus Mayo in the Connaught championships. Players of the likes of Eunan Doherty, Gary Dowd, Gerry Kelly and Kieran Keaveney will all be anxious to get back among the New York leagues to put their All-Ireland misery behind them.

SF, Div. 1

Cavan vs. Stamford

5:15 p.m.

Stamford’s last appearance at Gaelic Park was a repeat of last year’s senior final when they managed a draw versus Frank Brady’s Leitrim charges.

Cavan have been playing well this season, thumping Leitrim on opening day.

Stamford need the win perhaps a little more than their rivals.
