An important meeting concerning New York football will take place Thursday evening in the Lansdowne Bar, in the Bronx, directly following the regular GAA meeting.
All delegates must attend.
Benefits for Kilkenny hurler, Clare native
A fundraiser for an injured Kilkenny hurling club member will take place on Oct. 22 in Behan’s Pub, on Katonah Avenue, in Yonkers.
The first prize in a special drawing is a trip for two to Florida. There will be numerous other prizes.
There will also be live music.

Meanwhile, in the Tara Hill, also on Katonah Avenue, a benefit for Patsy Garry, a native of Kildysart, Co. Clare, will take place Oct. 24 at 5 p.m.
Garry, 24, suffered severe injuries when hit by a bus on Katonah Avenue on Aug. 9. This benefit is to defray his medical expenses.

Marathon recruiting
The Joints in Motion training team is now recruiting runners and walkers for the Dublin marathon on Oct. 25. Those who sign up will receive 20 weeks of group training, round-trip air fare, hotel accommodations and prizes — all for raising a minimum of $3,600 through sponsor donations.
