The Cooley Distillery which produces Tyrconnell, Locke’s and Connemara whiskeys, among others, has said that its blended, bottled “whiskey coke” is selling well in night clubs across Europe.

In 2000 the company sold 2.5 million bottles of whiskey in 40 countries and recorded a profit of euro 515,000 on the back of a turnover of euro 6.3 million.

Cooley was the first distillery to open in Irelands in over 100 years in 1987. Like the good folks at Kinsale, Cooley chairman John Teeling got the idea to make his tipple while in an Irish Bar, this time in Boston.
