Record settlements

Joseph Mulligan paid interest and penalties of euro 417,821 on under-declared income tax of euro 242,442. His case is one of 72 listed in the latest issue of Iris Oifigi_il.
The total value of the settlements listed is euro 7.29 million and the list includes the first identified settlement arising out of the Ansbacher inquiry and the first identified settlement arising out of the Revenue’s inquiries into bogus non-resident accounts.
The list includes 20 settlements for in excess of euro 100,000. It includes seven settlements arising out of the Revenue’s ongoing NIB inquiries. A substantial number of settlements arising out of the bogus non-resident accounts inquiry is expected over the coming year.
