Rovers 4, Lyndenhurst 2
Rovers dominated this game but survived a spirited comeback from Lyndenhurst to go 4 points clear in the league. Glaswegian Stuart Duffin opened opened the scoring with a neat finish, but the visitors equalized from a free kick and it took until just before halftime for Tony O’Donnell to head home and restore the lead. David Price scored a long-range volley and Rovers seemed in control, O’Donnell hitting the post, but Lyndenhurst pulled one back and a nervous last 20 minutes ended when Duffin finished after neat work from Anton Diver. John O’Hagen was outstanding on the left wing.
Rovers Reserves 5, Lyndenhurst 0
Tiny Eddie Beji slammed a hat-trick to take the Reserves 4 points clear, with Andy Greene and Mick Kavanagh scoring the others. John Browne and Nick Sebastian were in good form.
Rovers over 30s 1, Lyndenhurst 1
A hard fought game could have gone either way, but Rovers thought they’d won it when Keiron Branagan fired home a left foot shot. But Lyndenhurst came back and in injury time their goalkeeper scrambled home an equalizer. Rovers remain fourth.
