Tee to Green Guinness Intercounty ready for Union Vale

Guinness Bass will sponsor the Irish Intercounty Championship on Saturday, June 30, at the Links at Union Vale. Shotgun start at noon.

County teams will comprise six people, with the top five scores counting. Each team must have at least four players who were born in that county or whose parents were born in that county. Players who do not qualify for a county will be placed in a pool and assigned by lottery to a county. Second team entries will be accepted if extra tee times become available. All players must have MGA or USGA handicaps.

Prizes will be awarded to the first and second place low-net teams, the first and second low-net individuals, and first low-gross individual.

The entry fee is $100 per person ($600 per team) and includes greens fees, cart and buffet with open bar. This week is the deadline to enter. Make checks payable to Syl Nugent and mail them to him at 185 11th St., Bethpage, N.Y. 11714.

ICCUSA, Echo Golf

The Ireland Chamber of Commerce in the U.S. will again host the annual business awards dinner and golf outing, to be held on Tuesday, June 26, at the Kildare Hotel & Country Club in Ireland, site of the Ryder Cup 2005. ICCUSA is working with the Irish Echo newspaper, the Dublin Chamber of Commerce, and the Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce and Industry in presenting the event, which honors U.S. firms that have made contributions to Ireland’s economic well-being. Tee times, allotted on a first-come, first-served basis, will be limited to 10 teams.
