The proudest moment of my career: I was seventeen when I started as overnight bellman. After two weeks of training I started my first solo shift. Around 1 a.m. I received my first check in, a woman and gentleman that had shared a cab from the airport. I escorted the woman to her room and than proceeded to check in the gentleman who was located on the same floor. While walking down the corridor I glanced at his check in slip and noticed his name, “J. Owens”. Jokingly I asked if he was related to Jesse Owens of Olympic fame and fortune. He smiled and said, “That’s me.” Immediately I put out my hand to shake his and said, “Mr. Owens it is an honor to meet you.” He grabs my hand and said, “It is a pleasure to meet you Seamus”. Out of all the people I have dealt with in the last thirty four years he still stands out as the nicest person I’ve met.
