Why I chose this career: I started working for my aunt in her hotel serving at weddings at the age of 12. A couple of years later I started serving behind the bar. My mam, dad and brothers and sisters worked there also, so it was a family thing.

Status: Married.

Family; Married to Donal Broderick. I am the proud mother of one daughter, Natasha.

The proudest moment of my career: Having my boss of 23 years, Terry, walk me down the aisle.

Biography: Immigrated to New York in 1986. Started working in Manhattan at a catering business. Then worked in a couple of bars before eventually settling, in 1989, at The Riverdale Steakhouse, waitressing and bartending.

In my 26 years in this business in New York I have met a lot of interesting and fascinating people.

I’m also very involved in the ladies and men’s GAA and through my job I have encouraged new immigrants to get involved in their local clubs as it is a great way of meeting new friends and making contacts for work.
